I'm a big fan of the 'Lens' screensaver that came with older versions of Windows. I just found out that the thingy decides to eat as much CPU as it possibly can. Here's a fixed version.

Release: The Sims Generic Resolution Patch

Well... This is a small tool that lets you pick your own screen resolutions for The Sims.
This is a generic patch, meaning it should work for all versions of the game.

This patch requires a working NO-CD crack.

There's a good guide at the Widescreen Gaming Forum, on which this tool is loosely based. That guide also explains the annoyances you get when you mess with the game's resolution.
